My journey into vaping

Still vaping – ten months since I smoked a cigarette

A quick update because my vaping friends are worried about me. I will be back; just not yet. This last week would have been the end of a normal stop smoking attempt for me. I was pacing myself and starting to recover energy and activity levels from this couple of months of M.E./CFIDS crash-to-bed when my dad was involved in a car accident. We lost him a week ago, and there are added stresses that I won’t go into here.

I’m absolutely certain that were it not for vaping this would have been my point of relapse to smoking. My friend came over to sit with me, with her cigarettes on the night dad died, and she would have given me my first slippery slope back to smoking. Except that she didn’t even offer because I was vaping. Yes, I was pretty much draining a tank of juice in half the time I’d usually take, but I’m still on 12mg and I haven’t wanted to smoke instead.

Vaping. Preventing my relapse to smoking since January 2014.

  1. My thoughts are with you, as I’m sure are those of many others who have shared your thoughts in the past. So sorry to hear of your loss, and in such a way. Delighted that you didn’t relapse into ciggies. I had a bad time earlier this year and was so glad that I had my nicotine crutch to help me through. I look forward to seeing you back on the blog trail soon. All the very best to you – sincerely!

  2. My thoughts are with you too, the loss of a parent is one of the hardest things to bear and I feel your pain. Sending you love! Seven months and twenty days smoke free.

  3. I am looking forward to new blogs. Thinking about you.

  4. Dear Beki, so very glad to hear from you despite your sad news. It had run through my mind several times recently that it was ages since one of your posts had brightened my day, and hoping this just meant you were indeed pacing yourself back towards something resembling an even keel.

So very, very sorry to hear you’ve experienced one of life’s toughest blows, but filled with admiration that despite that, you have continued vaping throughout and NOT relapsed back to tobacco. Once the rawness of this loss has passed, hopefully this will allow you to have total confidence that there’s just simply no way that tobacco will ever get it’s claws back into you ever again.

I’ll be sending positive waves in your direction in the hope that your pain soon diminishes and this does not impact on your own health too much. Many, many virtual hugs and all very best wishes to you in this difficult time. (((((((( Beki ))))))))
